Lakeside Park

Growing up in Port Huron meant you spent time at Lakeside Park. You laid in the sun, changed in the beach house, swam, bought treats at the snack bar, and had a picnic with your family.

You might have even watched the 'submarine races' from the drive through before heading home on date night.

Port Huron Then & Now

Port Huron was created in 1849 with the merger of five smaller towns. Located at the mouth of Lake Huron, water was both a blessing and a draw for businesses.

Mueller Brass, Prestolite, Anchor-Holth, Chrysler and the Port Huron Area School District were leading employer. Take a look at Port Huron from back in the day vs. how it looks today.

Port Huron High Then & Now

Port Huron High is one of the oldest continuously operated high schools in America. It was opened in 1865, five months after the end of the Civil War and graduated it's first class of four students in 1869.

PHHS is rich in traditions, memorable in the achievements of its graduates and looks much the same today as it did 50 years ago when our class graduated.

Water & Bridges

During the lifetimes of the Class of 1961 Lake Huron and the St. Clair and Black rivers have been a constant. They attracted our forebears because of the jobs that needed the water for manufacturing. And they attract people today for the views and recreation available on the water.

Take a tour by boat along the rivers of Port Huron and St. Clair and into the mouth of Lake Huron.
